On behalf of membership, The CDSRA Executive would like to congratulate Dave Gantar on a remarkable career as as he officiated his final match this past Sunday in the 2021 Canadian Championship Final between Montreal and Toronto. Dave has represented Canada and Alberta on the international level for 10 years, first becoming a national referee in 2004 and then earning his FIFA designation in 2011. He has been involved at the Major League Soccer (MLS) level since 2010 and has officiated in 231 MLS matches in that span and has also represented Canada at the 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cups as well as in 2014 World Cup Qualifying.

Aside from his on field achievements Dave has played an instrumental role off the field, serving as a mentor to many referees in the National program as well as helping to develop the next crop of officials within Alberta including numerous CDSRA members. His impact on the referee program will continue to be felt for many years to come.
