What are the benefits of being a CDSRA member?

Why are memberships subscription based?

Subscriptions make life simpler. Members no longer have to go through the process of inputting their information every year and wonder whether their membership is active or has elapsed.

The cash flow reliability will also help the CDSRA Executive prudently budget for upcoming fiscal years which will yield better long-term results and value to members.

Will I get notified before any charges?

Yes. You will receive an email 7 days before your membership will renew which includes a clickable link allowing you to easily cancel or change/update your information.

Can I cancel my membership?

Yes. You can cancel your membership at anytime by accessing the membership portal. All you need is your email address. To access the portal visit www.cdsra.org/portal

What Category of Membership Should I purchase?

We have four membership categories: Adult, Student, Out-of-Town and Inactive:

Student: any referee who is 25-years-old or less and is in full-time attendance at a recognized post-secondary or secondary educational institution

Out-of-Town: A qualified adult soccer referee residing more than 50 kilometres away from Calgary city limits

inactive: A former referee who wishes to remain engaged with the CDSRA.

If you do not fit within these three categories, please purchase an adult membership. Please also feel free to email us should you have any other questions, comments or concerns.

Is my Credit Card Information Secure?

Yes. The CDSRA does not retain your credit card information. We use Chargebee which is our online recurring billing system. Within this platform we use a widely recognized and secure online payment processing provider (Stripe) to process your transaction. You can read both their security standards here:

What if I only want a membership for a period of one year?

You can purchase your membership and then immediately log into the portal and cancel renewal. Your membership for the current year would remain unchanged and your card will not be charged for future renewals. You can always log back in to the portal if you change your mind.

How do I know whether I'm an active member or not?

Beginning in 2021/2022 you will receive an email letting you know if your membership has elapsed.

Since the CDSRA uses a subscription based system your membership should not lapse unless you have manually canceled membership renewal or if your credit card information needs to be updated. You can always visit the portal at cdsra.org/portal and login to your account to check your membership status and update your credit card and/or personal information.

What is the Membership Portal and How do I access It?

The membership portal allows you to manage your CDSRA subscription and update your personal information such as changing your credit card on file and/or referee status. You can access the portal at anytime by visiting cdsra.org/portal. Login using your email address associated with your CDSRA membership. The password is a one-time-key that is emailed to you when you login.

The Portal is telling me there is no account associated with my email. What should I do?

Please ensure you are using the email address associated with your CDSRA subscription. If you are not sure which email address you used please get in touch with us and we can get you this information.

I cannot access my email / I am not getting the One-Time Password. What should I do?

You should be receiving the one-time password. Check your spam. If you are sitll having trouble please get in touch with us for assistance.

Why can't I change my email address in the portal?

We do not allow members to change their email address in the portal as it does not automatically sync with our membership distribution list. If you would like your email changed, please get in touch with us and we will manually change it on our end on both the portal and email distribution list.

Do i need to be based in calgary to be a member?

No. Online delivery has allowed the CDSRA to be accessible to refeees in a way that was not possible before. While our focus is primarily on Calgary and area referees, we have welcomed new members from around the province.

Benefits for out of town members:

  • Connections to some of the best instructors in the province
  • Support from mentors and peers

Can I pay for my membership offline?

We recommend you purchase your membership online however, If you prefer to submit your registration in person (offline), you can fill out the in-person registration form. and submit the appropriate payment (cheque/cash) in person to any executive member.
