CDSRA, CARD Program Forge New Partnership to Elevate Referee Development in Calgary

The Calgary District Soccer Referees Association (CDSRA) is thrilled to announce a partnership with the Centre for Advanced Referee Development (CARD) Program in Calgary.

Traditionally an independent, invite-only program, CARD has been recognized for its commitment to developing high-performance referees who excel at the provincial level and beyond. With this collaboration, CDSRA aims to expand the program and create an even more dynamic and inclusive environment for select officials seeking to officiate at the highest levels of soccer in the province.

The revamped CARD Program will be structured into three distinct levels: CARD Level 1, CARD Level 2, and CARD Level 3. The program will be application, invite-based and will maintain a competitive, standards-based approach to ensure the best possible development for aspiring referees. As the soccer landscape in Calgary continues to evolve and professionalize, it is crucial to have a platform that nurtures talent and fosters growth among officials.

Rolling out over the coming weeks and months, the partnership between CDSRA and CARD will bring forth a series of comprehensive training programs, mentorship initiatives, and evaluation processes to elevate the skills and knowledge of participating referees. The collaboration aims to create a high-performance environment that nurtures and prepares referees for the challenges they may encounter at the provincial level and beyond.

Furthermore, the collaboration between CDSRA and CARD comes at an opportune time, as the impending launch of a women's domestic professional league in Canada is set to create a surge in demand for qualified and experienced female referees. Recognizing this opportunity, CDSRA is dedicated to fostering the development of female officials through the enhanced CARD Program. By providing targeted support and opportunities, CDSRA aims to empower and equip female referees to excel in their officiating careers.

CDSRA and CARD will release additional information in due course, including details on the application and selection process, training schedules, and mentorship opportunities. Aspiring referees and individuals interested in the CARD Program are encouraged to stay tuned for forthcoming announcements.

The collaboration between CDSRA and CARD signifies a significant step forward for referee development in Calgary. Through this partnership, CDSRA reinforces its commitment to providing a comprehensive and high-performance environment for officials, enabling them to reach their full potential and contribute to the success of soccer in our region.
