Congratulations to CDSRA Members Accepted to Canada Soccer NextGen Program!
The CDSRA congratulates Michael Mund, Kurtis Nozack and Sebastian Richters on their successful returns to the Canada Soccer NextGen Referee program, and congratulates Mazzen Black, Luke Garland, Mazen Hassanin and Harsimrit (Sim) Lakhyan for being accepted to the program for the first time.
The NextGen list of referees is determined by Canada Soccer with recommendations from Provincial Associations, based on rigorous standards, and criteria-based expectations. The list is renewed annually and requires each applicant to successfully pass fitness and Laws of the Game testing, while providing a detailed portfolio of their refereeing activity including game logs, highlights and assessments among other requirements. NextGen officials are eligible for appointment to the Canadian Premier League & Canadian Championship and are on a pathway towards the National List.
Alberta now has 9 officials in the Canada Soccer National Referee Program. All Alberta officials in the national program are active members of the CDSRA, underscoring the important role the association has played in the development of officials in the province.
