CDSRA Welcomes New Volunteers to Key Roles
The Calgary District Soccer Referees Association (CDSRA) is pleased to welcome three talented volunteers to its team: Brian Wong, Austin Abiiba, and Toks Bakinson. These individuals bring a wealth of expertise, energy, and dedication to their roles, further strengthening the CDSRA’s mission to support and develop the referee community across Calgary.
CDSRA President Mazen Hassanin stated, “We are grateful to Brian, Austin, and Toks for stepping up and contributing their time and expertise to support the CDSRA and our referee community. Their efforts, combined with our already talented team, will allow us to continue collaborating with all our stakeholders and continue to support the development of all referees in the region”
Brian Wong will lead the CDSRA’s media and communications efforts, leveraging his extensive background in the field. He will oversee social media, website management, email, and branding initiatives and focus on storytelling, inclusivity, and community engagement to enhance the CDSRA’s digital presence and strengthen its connections with referees, leagues, and stakeholders.
Austin Abiiba brings strong communication and organizational skills to his role. He will coordinate and disseminate communications for all CDSRA programming and support the organization’s website and social media platforms. His contributions will ensure cohesive, engaging messaging that drives greater awareness and participation in CDSRA initiatives.
As a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Toks Bakinson brings expertise in financial management. She will assist the Finance Committee with budget tracking, performance monitoring, and ongoing financial projects, ensuring the organization’s fiscal health and growth. Additionally, Toks will play a key role in supporting women’s development initiatives, and supporting development opportunities for female referees.
