CDSRA Officials Appointed to ACAC and Canada West Championship Matches

CDSRA referees continued to be featured in key competitions this season, with several members appointed to officiate at both the ACAC Finals and Canada West Playoffs, proudly representing the association across multiple high-level competitions.

From October 24–26, the ACAC Men’s and Women’s Championship Tournaments were hosted in Raymond, Alberta. This competition determined who would represent ACAC at the upcoming CCAA national championships in Red Deer, and in Montreal. Each competition featured various CDSRA officials. As well as assessors Laurie Hastings, Laurie Darvill, and Garth Elgie.

The Women’s Final was officiated by Shaelyn Holdaway (REF), Chantell Loughman (AR1), Amaya Myhovich (AR2) and Allison Preston (4th)

The Men’s Final featured Luke Garland (REF), Gareth Kmet (AR1), Hassan Al-Khafagi (AR2), and Aaron Labovich (4TH).

Both tournaments showcased strong refereeing performances, with CDSRA officials contributing to an excellent standard of play and competition.

In Calgary, Mount Royal University hosted the Canada West Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, and Final between October 24–26, with CDSRA officials once again appointed to key roles throughout the championship.

The Semi final determined which team would represent Canada West at the USPORT National Championships.

The Canada West Final, held on November 1, was officiated by a full CDSRA crew consisting of Phillip Schrod (REF), Adam Benani (AR1), Joshua Gall (AR2), Luke Garland (4th).

These appointments reflect the continued presence of CDSRA referees at the highest levels of collegiate and university soccer in Alberta and Western Canada.
